Budget Gorilla Trekking gives you an opportunity to enjoy a combination of mountain gorillas coupled with Nyiragongo hike safari in Congo. The fascinating hiking safari will take you from Kigali Rwanda across the border to Democratic Republic of Congo in Virunga National Park visiting the rare mountain gorillas on the foothills of Virunga mountains and then to mount Nyiragongo with the largest permanent lava in the world.

Day 1: Kigali – Virunga National Park

Early morning after your lodge or hotel breakfast, transfer to Gisenyi and proceed to cross the border with Congo to the town of Goma which is the capital of the North Kivu province. Dinner and overnight at Mikeno Lodge meal plan F/B

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

Rise up very early in the morning for a quick cup of coffee and your guide will transfer you to the park headquarter for gorilla briefing. After the briefing, proceed to the starting point as you are accompanied by armed ranger guides. Gorilla trekking is likely to last for about 2 to 7 hours and once found you will be allowed to stay with them for a full hour as you take photos and videos watching them feeding, playing, sleeping and interacting with each other. Once the gorilla trekking activity is done, you will return back to the park headquarters for issuing of gorilla certificates and after transfer back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Nyiragongo Hike Safari

Following your breakfast in the morning, ready with your hiking boots, transfer to volcano trail head lasting 7-8 hour depending on the general group fitness as you hike through lush rainforest. A fascinating view of this lava lake will give you a whole evening to enjoy the view from the crater and watch the lava inside as you take photos. Overnight and dinner in the Nyiragongo shelters at the top of the volcano

Day 4: Descend the volcano, transfer to Kigali

Early morning after your breakfast, you will descend back down and transfer to Gisenyi and proceed to cross the border with Congo to the town of Goma which is the capital of the North Kivu province. Dinner and overnight at Mikeno Lodge meal plan F/B
